Sophie Thomas is Head of Patient Services at The Society for Mucopolysaccharide and Related Diseases, UK. She is a patient advocate with over 28 years’ experience of working within the health and social care field. Ms Thomas started work at the MPS Society in March 2002 and has specialised in patient advocacy for over 22 years, leading the MPS Society’s patient advocacy service since 2005.
The MPS Society is the only UK charity supporting individuals and families affected by MPS, Fabry and related diseases. The MPS Society offers specialist support, information and advocacy, working in partnership with individuals, families, health, statutory services and other relevant professionals, ensuring that the individual and their needs always remains the main priority and that they have access to the specialist care, services and treatment that they need.
